Store Policies

Them's the rules.

Cancellations, Shipping, Returns

Cancellations

No cancellations. I will not provide false hope with a cancellation policy. If something weird happened and you catch it right away, you are welcome to email with no guarantees.

Shipping fees

  • For vessels & ornaments, the shipping is a flat rate of $10 per item; jewelry and tinies are $5 per item.

  • Shipping is free if the order total is over $150.

  • Standard processing times are 3-5 business days before shipping.

Returns

No returns, refunds, or exchanges.
If something arrives damaged, email me within a week of the delivery date with photos of the item and the shipping materials, if also damaged. The nature of fire makes replacements difficult.

Food and Body Safety

All of my pottery work is mid to high fire clay bodies made with food and body safe materials.

Most of my pottery is fired to cone 10. Pottery can be Food Safe and safely used for dinnerware when using Mid (cone 6) and High-fire (cone 10) clays. When fired at higher temperatures, pottery- the actual clay body- becomes vitrified (glass-like) and waterproof, making it safe to use even without glaze. This means even unglazed pottery pieces may be safely used for drinking out of or serving food. All the glazes I use on the pottery vessels (mugs, plates, bowls, personal items, etc.) are fired at cone 10 where they melt and basically turn into glass. These are food safe as well. (Yes, pottery can be very geeky and is really, really cool.)

High-fire stoneware clay bodies are well-suited for practical pottery, dinnerware, and tableware items due to their high firing temperatures and low porosity. Because of their longevity and resistance to water absorption, they are suitable for objects that require frequent usage and washing. Furthermore, professional potters and ceramic artists use high-fire stoneware for producing high-quality, long-lasting works that serve both functional and aesthetic purposes.

Mid and low fire clay info:

There are very few items in the store that are fired to cone 6 (the blue period). These are also food and body safe materials and items. However, I would strongly encourage you not to microwave them or put them in the dishwasher.

Some jewelry pieces are made with low-fire clay like terra cotta or low fire glaze to retain bright colors. That said, do not eat or drink from or with the jewelry. It is perfectly fine for any clay or glaze I use to sit on the skin, like jewelry does, but please don't be a weirdo who eats the jewelry.

I have been phasing these materials out. I prefer consistency and the more I learn about cone 10 glaze, the more I want to experiment.
